The Effect of the Attitude towards Women and Value Orientation on Gender Role Perception

Aim: Today, in almost all societies which the gender equality and position of women society are often discussed, it is historically a social reality that individuals with different social, cultural, political psychological backgrounds subject to discrimination due these differences. Subjects Methods: This study aims examine effect attitude towards value orientation on role perception was conducted 6054 students studying departments at Atatürk University Open Education Faculty. The data collection instruments used this research personal information form determine sociodemographic attributes participants, Attitudes Towards Women Scale, Schwartz Value Orientations Gender Role Perception Scale. Results: According findings there significant relationship between women, but also negative perception, traditionality. It found most effective variable predicting women. finding shows individuals' perceptions more egalitarian when attitudes positive. Conclusion: considered would be beneficial organize programs aiming gaining values self-direction universalism instead traditionality security ensure positive change In addition this, need for longitudinal studies those attitudes.
